A small Leeds team that built the money app we wished we had
If you work for yourself, you probably know the feeling of opening your bank statement in January and trying to remember what each payment was for. Geseto started from that exact frustration, and this page explains who we are and how we think.
How it began
Geseto was founded in Leeds in 2015 by a few freelancers who were tired of tracking invoices in spreadsheets and receipts in shoeboxes. The first version did one thing: it let you log a payment in under ten seconds. Since then we have worked with 396 clients and completed 496 jobs, and 100 of those clients came back for a second one. That return rate tells us more than any survey could.
What we want the app to do
Our mission is simple: make it easy for a freelancer to see what came in, what went out, and what is left. We do not try to replace your accountant or pretend to give tax advice. We try to give you tidy, honest records, so the conversation with your accountant takes twenty minutes instead of two hours. Our vision is an app that feels like a quiet notebook, not a dashboard that demands attention.
The values we work by
We keep things plain. Prices and features are described as they are, with no hidden extras. We treat your financial data as something borrowed, not owned, so we collect only what the app needs to function. And we answer people quickly: a typical request gets a reply within an hour during opening hours, from a person who actually uses the product.
Experience behind the work
Eleven years of building for self-employed people has taught us a few things. Income arrives irregularly, so monthly views matter less than rolling ones. Expenses are usually small and frequent, so entering them must be quick. Many freelancers work across several clients and currencies, so categories need to be flexible. We serve six areas around Leeds and across the wider region, and our six services grew out of questions our clients kept asking.
